The Phoenix
So this past weekend, I went to a Phenomenauts show, as I have previously stated. Now, the Phenomenauts are a pretty good band…well, they were, who often play at the local Petaluma theater known as The Phoenix.
The first time I went to this theater was actually a Phenomenauts show, and I was impressed with the place so much. It had a stage, lighting, space, ramps, couches, and the walls were covered in graffiti. But now, I have a completely different view of the place. I am about to completely bash the shithole an
d pretty much everyone who goes there, so if you don’t feel like reading about me bitching and complaining, dont read this.
So, on Saturday, November 14th, around 7:15pm to go pick up Reina. We went straight downtown and got out of the car to meet two friends, Mark, and Jesse. Upon arriving, I ran into my friend, Chris, as well. We hung out outside of the Phoenix for about 45 minutes until we finally went in. The worst part about this place is outside. There are teenagers and adults sitting, standing, and laying down outside smoking cigarettes, weed, and drinking. Now, I don’t mind the smell of weed or anything, and drinking is whatever, but I hate, hate hate, cigarettes. I hate the idea, the smell, the the…the everything. This is only one reason why I hate this place- I get smoke blown into my face every direction I look. Anyways, upon going inside, I noticed all the crap everywhere. But then, I went upstairs to use the bathroom. It smelled like vomit. I could not handle it.
Now, usually I won’t go around bashing something, I’ll try to get used to it, or not talk about it, but it’s to the point where I despise it. It’s also the people, in a sense. It’s all these teenagers who think their life sucks, they think they are so original or different. They’re just sooo hardcore and badass and I’m sick of it. If your life sucks so much, don’t go around spending money on cigarettes and drugs, do something valuable with your time. And it’s not “badass” to smoke weed and drink…really. Then again, if this is “you” and its “who you are”, I’d love to see you 20 years from now, with kids and a family.
And, colored hair is getting old. Pink hair and a tu-tu doesn’t make you different anymore.
Sorry if I hurt your feelings, kids.
