          I always come downstairs after my shower while Allie watches Zena: Warrior Princess on the big television in Mommy’s room. Mommy says its good I read, and that I’ll like reading when I’m older, just like her. She doesn’t know I’m just eavesdropping on her and Daddy; I’m in the clear. “I clean. I cook. I pick up the girls. I do everything, Kev!”, Mommy complains to Daddy. “You can’t just come home and be the nice guy”, she tells him. I don’t know what Mommy is talking about- Daddy is a nice guy; funny too! She’s the meany that won’t take Allie and I to Burger King after swim practice!

Anyways, I remember Mommy’s complaint that she does all the cooking and cleaning, so I decided to help her make the Mac n Cheese for Allie after my Grease performance. The phone starts ringing as I throw on my necessary cooking apron. It’s my aunt, Stacey- she’s the best! I can’t reach the stove, though, so I drag the chair from the dining room a couple yards until it’d in front of the stove. I step up onto the squishy chair seat and my eyes gaze into the boiling water. The bubbles remind me of witches, and I get scared. I thought for a moment that Mommy was making a potion, but then she tells me it’s supposed to do that. Mommy stayed on the phone while telling me what to do to prepare the dinner. She even let me pour in the noodles, which was really cool! She won’t let me do the grown-up stuff though, so I just get to stir, pour and mix. Finally I’m done making dinner! I hope Allie likes it.
