2nd Semester

Published by katiecash91 at 7:34 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

So today was my first day back to school this year, after 2 weeks off for Christmas break. I realized today that I really don’t mind school. Since it’s my 2nd semester of my senior year, I’m very lay back. Well, I’ve always been really lay back, but whatever. I realized that from this point on, I couldn’t really care less about my grades. I feel like I’m not in school for grades, but because I’m interested or want to be there, which is strange for me. I think this is also because I have a pretty easy schedule this year, and they are all classes I wanted to take, for the most part. I am taking the following courses, if you are interested:

  1. Creative Writing with Ms. Donovan
  2. Pre-calculus with Mr. Shick
  3. Christian Lifestyles with Mr. O’Toole
  4. Psychology with Ms. Donovan
  5. Art I with Ms. J, or “Mrs. Pederson”
  6. Economics with Mr. Reynolds
  7. Modern Literature with Ms. Donovan

So in creative writing today, we wrote letters to ourselves. Ms. Donovan says that at the same time next year, she will send out the letters so that we can see what we’ve written. Then we read a short story about a phone call, which was actually kind of interesting.

In Pre-caluculus, I honestlyhave no idea what we did…I was too focused on the sword I was making for Reina out of binderpaper. Also, I was excited I got a B for the semester, being as my quarter grade was a C-

Then off to Christian Lifestyles I went. I really like Mr. O’Toole so far, and I’ve only had him in class for one day. He paces a lot, though. But he started the class by telling a horrible ridiculous story about sucking up to Dr. Walker, which was humorous. Then we played a game which I really don’t feel like explaining, but whatever, it was fun.

Psychology I have a feeling I won’t like much, but I’ll give it a shot. It’s the only class I have with Reina, which also kind of blows. I can’t really remember what we did in Psych, but it’s all good.

Art is awesome, as usual. Ms. J looks like she is about to explode. (She’s also 8 months pregnant, and not to mention, the cutest pregnant woman ever.) We’re doing a project that sounds okay, but I really want to do to sculpture project, so she said if I finish this one first, she’ll let me do the sculpture one. I brought my current project home to finish fast, though, hehe.

Economics I was late for because I was toasting a bagel. But Ms. Perry (previously Mrs. Clifford) wrote me a note to be excused so Mr. Reynolds wouldn’t kill me. I don’t think I’m going to be a big fan of that class, but I’ll give it a shot. I like Mr. Reynolds as a teacher, so I’m sure I’ll do fine.

And Modern Literature. We’re reading Hamlet. I think the best part of the class is when we were all saying what we think of when we think of Shakespeare. “Great literature”, one would say. “Romeo and Juliet”, another. When I said “Shakespeare is over-rated”, Ms. Donovan’s face just dropped. But it’s okay, I’m sure I won’t hate Hamlet as much as I hated Othello…that’s a plus, I suppose.

And now, now I’m home. Time to relax, ::sigh::
